Changing behaviour by applying psychological insights

The Knowledge Centre Psychology and Economic Behaviour is independent, scientific, and societally engaged.

Our focus lies on developing, applying, and sharing scientific knowledge about economic behaviour. We define economic behaviour broadly. It may mean behaviours with direct economic consequences, such as financial decisions. But we also include behaviours whose consequences are less direct: in the domains of sustainability and health, for instance.

Psychology has a lot to teach us about how people make decisions. We use this knowledge to change behaviour.

Our Knowledge Centre was founded on 1 January, 2020, and is affiliated with the unit of Social, Economic and Organisational Psychology at Leiden University. The Knowledge Centre was made possible by a donation of Utopa Foundation.

We are located in the centre of Leiden, in the historic and beautiful building of the former orphanage  on the Hooglandse Kerkgracht. Here you can meet our researchers, and follow our lectures, workshops, and courses.
