Welcome to the Knowledge Centre Psychology and Economic Behaviour

More info

The aim of the Knowledge Centre is to promote choices that improve individual and societal wellbeing.

We bridge the gap between science and practice. In addition to conducting our own research, we work together with governments and social organizations. We share knowledge through events and training and provide advice based on scientific behavioural insights.

What we do

We conduct independent research into themes that we consider important. We also like to carry out research in collaboration with other organisations.

We provide training on basic behavioral insights as well as in-depth workshops. The format and topics are geared to the target group and can be adapted to specific wishes.

We organize different events. Every year we organize a fall and spring symposium where we discuss a specific topic, for example, financial stress. We also organize expert sessions for behavioral experts. Check out our calendar for upcoming events.

We are convinced that policy, communication, and services are more effective if you take human behaviour into account. We are happy to advise you.

Sharing knowledge is important to us

We organise seminars for professionals. We also organise events for a general audience, meaning for everybody who is interested. In addition, we publish our findings in short, easy-to-read summaries, in scientific articles, and in annual reports.

National Financial Worries

To gain more insight into financial worries in the Netherlands, we have taken the initiative together with Money Wise to set up the National Monitor Financial Worries. With this monitor, we investigate every quarter what households in the Netherlands are most concerned about. This way we can keep an eye on changes over time.

The Knowledge Centre is founded with the support of Utopa Foundation. Read more about this donation in this article on the website of the Leiden University.

We value collaboration

Would you like to set up and carry out a study with us? Or organize a lecture, workshop or course? Are you looking for advice on behavioral change? Or do you want to help expand our reach? We are open to many forms of cooperation.
